List of Indian Cricketers who have made donations in the fight against Coronavirus

Coronavirus has adversely struck a World, and the effects of the pandemic have hit the nations hard. Many governments and people were found unprepared against the rampant disease, and many healthcare systems have shattered. However, economic setbacks are much deeper, and it has affected many people with limited resources. However, people from different sectors have come ahead to tackle the situation, and the Indian cricketers haven’t lagged. Various Indian cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and MS Dhoni have come forward to assist the government in tackling the situation.

Indian cricketers open their purses:

Three veterans captains of Indian have once again emerged as the leaders in terms of assisting the government with the relief funds. Sourav Ganguly, fondly knows as ‘Dada,’ was the first one to come out to in assistance of the government. He announced that he would donate 50 Lakhs worth of rice to the administration. His compatriot Sachin Tendulkar followed his captain to perfection. The ‘Little Master’ donated 25 Lakhs each to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Relief fund. Mahendra Singh Dhoni also donated 1 Lakh INR to an NGO working in Pune for Covid-19 relief.

Gautam Gambhir, the former KKR skipper and current MP from Delhi, did not lag either. He donated 50 Lakhs for the Covid-19 relief fund from his Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme. Pathan brothers known for their all-rounding abilities provided the needy with 4000 face Masks, which are much needed for the fight against Corona.

Another ex-KKR captain Sourav Ganguly also extended his support in the form of BCCI’s support. He warned the nation and asked them to stand together in this moment of struggle.

The Cricket Associations also come to the forefront:

The Cricket Associations also came to the fore to tackle the intimidating situation. The Cricket Association of Bengal was the first association to come forward when they donated 25 Lakhs to the authorities to combat Covid-19. Avishek Dalmiya, the president association, also ahead and donated five lakhs of his capital to the relief funds.

Saurashtra Cricket Board also donated 21 lakh INR each to the PM and CM relief funds. Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI president, is geared for the battle. Earlier, he also offered the government to use the dormitories and rooms of Eden Gardens as isolation centers.
