Gautam Gambhir makes another controversial statement on MS Dhoni ahead of IPL 2021

Gautam Gambhir is known as a jinx master nowadays by cricket fans as his predictions have often gone wrong terribly. He has now made a statement regarding one of the most successful franchises in IPL history in MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings.

Chennai Super Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in IPL history in the previous season that happened in UAE. There was a lot of criticism on the team structure of CSK but MS Dhoni won the title with the same team in 2018 and took the same team to the finals in 2019.

Many believe that CSK might release a lot of players ahead of the upcoming season and here’s what Gautam Gambhir had to say

If you release a lot of players, you also need to see what is available in the auction. I agree we have been talking for the last two or three years that CSK has an ageing squad, no doubt it was an ageing squad as well with the likes of Shane Watson, Dwayne Bravo and MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni is a master of extracting quality work from any player in the world and that’s how he made an ordinary looking CSK side on paper into a champion side.

“But the way they performed and I have been saying for a number of years that MS Dhoni has this quality, people talk how MS Dhoni has made CSK such a successful side in the IPL, that he only concentrates on that year,” Gambhir added

MS Dhoni will concentrate on winning IPL 2021

In all likelihood, MS Dhoni might well play his last season of IPL in his cricket career. He has already retired from all forms of cricket and IPL is the only form of cricket which he plays. The southpaw Gautam Gambhir believes that MS Dhoni’s quality will remain the same this year as well.

“He will not concentrate to make the squad for the next three years, not at all. So MS Dhoni’s quality is going to remain same this year as well, what best squad and best opportunity can win them the title this year, he will do that only. So, I don’t feel they are going to release too many players unless and until a lot of players are coming in the auction whom they are targeting,” Gambhir concluded.
