The big breaking news update coming from the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) camp is that their regular captain KL Rahul will take no further part in the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) due to a hip injury. The Lucknow Super Giants will be taking on the Gujarat Titans (GT) on 7 May, 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Things have not worked out very well recently for the Lucknow Super Giants as their most recent IPL 2023 game got abandoned due to rain and they also suffered a poor loss at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul has already ruled himself out for this GT vs LSG match and also will not be playing in the rest of the Indian Premier League 2023 season. The LSG skipper sustained the hip injury while fielding in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore and then, he missed the previous game against Chennai Super Kings as well. Rahul is currently in Mumbai for some scans after which he will be travelling to London for a thigh surgery and will subsequently, miss the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia scheduled to take place in June 2023.

Rahul had been batting really well for the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023 during the recent few games as he had notched up a total of 274 runs from 9 matches that included a couple of fifties as well. In his absence, left-arm spinner Krunal Pandya will be the LSG captain for the remainder of the T20 competition. The Lucknow Super Giants have also signed Karnataka batsman Karun Nair as the replacement player.
