Australian Opener Matthew Hayden and veteran Indian Cricketer Yuvraj Singh needs no introduction, they have won numerous matches single handedly playing for their respective teams.

This India-Australia encounter has always been a fascinating affair for the fans as two of the top cricketing nations have the knack of giving their all till the last ball of the match.But this time they weren’t playing for their national teams, instead they played a 10 over exhibition match known as Bushfire Bash 2020.While Yuvraj Singh played under Gilchrist’s captaincy in Gilchrist’s XI, Hayden played for Ponting’s XI under his mate Ricky Ponting’s captaincy.

As it Happened..

It all happened in the 3rd ball of the 5th Over being bowled by Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh to Australian Opener Matthew Hayden.As Yuvraj bowled, Hayden hit fabulous shot towards long off for a big Maximum! The crowd seemed to be joy but not for long, the very next ball by Yuvraj, Hayden was caught by Villani.Hayden played 14 balls & made 16 runs with a six and a boundary.Here’s a clip of his Shot:

All About Bushfire Bash 2020

Bushfire Bash was originally slated to be played at Sydney today but weather forecast prompted Cricket Australia to reschedule the game to ensure the best possible pitch and outfield conditions for the final of Big Bash League.

It is currently being played at the Junction Oval in Melbourne, where Gilchrist XI won the coin toss & have opted to bowl first.

Ponting XI: Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Ricky Ponting (c), Elyse Villani, Brian Lara, Phoebe Litchfield, Brad Haddin (wk), Brett Lee, Wasim Akram, Dan Christian, Luke Hodge. Coach: Sachin Tendulkar

The Bushfire Bash exhibition match is a 10-overs-per-side contest, with a five-over Powerplay, no bowling restrictions, and batters unable to get out from the first ball they face.Bowlers will not have any over limits, fielders can sub on and off as it suits, while captains will have the ability to sub batters in and out during an innings
