The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have had a brilliant start with the bat as both their opening batters, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway are on a roll in their ongoing second game of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) being hosted at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Chennai Super Kings have recorded their third highest powerplay score in the history of the Indian Premier League as the duo of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed a total of 79 runs in the first six overs of the powerplay. Both the CSK openers have smacked the Lucknow Super Giants in all parts of the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Gaikwad notched up his second half-century of IPL 2023 and he scored 46 runs off just 20 balls in the powerplay while Conway smashed 23 runs off 16 deliveries. Chennai Super Kings achieved the CSH highest powerplay score in IPL history when they scored 100 for 2 against Kings XI Punjab during the Indian Premier League 2014 season.
CSK recorded their second biggest powerplay score in the history of the T20 competition against the Mumbai Indians during IPL 2015 when they put on 90 runs on the scoreboard in the first six overs of the powerplay. The Chennai Super Kings scored 73 for 1 in the powerplay overs against the Lucknow Super Giants during IPL 2022 which is their fifth highest powerplay score in the history of IPL.
