1. Chris Gayle 175 vs Pune Warriors (IPL 2013)

The Universe Boss Chris Gayle scripted history in IPL 2013 when he smacked the highest individual score by a batsman in the history of the tournament. While playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Gayle played an astounding knock of 175 runs off just 66 balls that included 17 sixes and 13 fours against Pune Warriors. The big-hitting West Indian opener reached his century in just 30 balls during the incredible innings. During that game, RCB also registered highest ever IPL team total as they posted 263 for 5 in 20 overs and restricted Pune to 133/9 to pick up a comprehensive 130-run win.

 

2. Brendon McCullum 158 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (IPL 2008)

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opener Brendon McCullum provided an extraordinary opening to the IPL by playing a fabulous knock of 158 runs off only 73 balls in the first match of the inaugural season against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The swashbuckling Kiwi opener smashed a total of 10 fours and 13 sixes during his historical unbeaten innings. On the back of McCullum’s brilliant innings, KKR won the match by a comfortable margin of 140 runs.

3. AB de Villiers 133 vs Mumbai Indians (IPL 2015)

While representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore, AB de Villiers smashed a fabulous knock of 133 runs off just 59 balls against Mumbai Indians in IPL 2015. De Villiers was involved in a record partnership of 215 runs with Virat Kohli who also scored 82 runs in that game. AB de Villiers who is also referred to as ‘Mr. 360 degrees’, smacked the MI bowlers all over the park as he hit 19 fours and 4 sixes which helped his side win the match by 39 runs.

4. KL Rahul 132 vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (IPL 2020)

In the previous edition of the IPL held in the UAE, the Kings XI Punjab now-turned Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul was in a tremendous form with the bat throughout the season. Rahul played a stupendous innings of 132 runs off 69 balls that included 14 fours and 7 sixes in the game against Bangalore. Rahul currently holds the record of the highest individual score by an Indian player in the IPL. Punjab registered a brilliant 97-run win in that match and Rahul ended the tournament as the leading run-getter having notched up 670 runs in 14 games.

5. AB de Villiers 129 vs Gujrat Lions (IPL 2016)

In the elite category of the top 5 individual scores in the history of the IPL, former South African stylish batsman AB de Villiers occupies the fifth spot as well. While playing for the RCB, AB de Villiers once again went berserk during IPL 2016 game against Gujrat Lions where he slammed 129 runs off 52 balls which consisted of 12 sixes and 10 fours. Both Kohli and de Villiers smashed centuries in that game as RCB posted 248 for 3 in 20 overs while Gujrat were bowled out for just 104 runs and conceded a heavy 144-run loss.
