Bangladesh has faced a huge blow just a couple of days prior to the start of their ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 campaign. It’s their captain, Mashrafe Mortaza. Mortaza has a hamstring concern after the warm-up game against India in Cardiff on Tuesday.

Considering the fact that this is his last World Cup, Bangladesh skipper does not want to miss out a single opportunity to perform at the big stage.

“I pulled a hamstring during the sixth over. I could have stopped after four or five overs but Rohit and Kohli were looking to score runs quickly during that period. I felt that I needed to practice bowling in such a situation,” Mashrafe said.

After the injury, he was seen in the dressing room for most of India’s innings and Shakib Al Hasan captained the side.

More concerns for Bangladesh Tigers

The Bangladeshi side has a couple of more injuries which is a concern to worry about. Their ace all-rounder Shakib recovered from a side strain relatively recently. Mustafizur Rahman is suffering from a calf injury while opener Tamim Iqbal, 30 who will be playing his fourth World Cup could not play the practice match against due to a minor thigh strain but is expected to join the squad when they play South Africa.
