There have been some major overhauls in the ICC Women’s Player Rankings. After an outstanding performance in the home ODI series against Zimbabwean women, all-rounder Deepti Sharma and opener Pratika Rawal have made remarkable strides in the rankings, even as star batter and newly appointed Indian women’s skipper Smriti Mandhana slipped from the top spot of the ICC women’s ODI batting rankings.
India’s prolific opener Smriti Mandhana lost her World No. 1 ranking in the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings after modest scores of 32 and 0 in the opening two matches of the home bilateral series against Zimbabwe women. Her brief dip in form elevated South African women’s skipper Laura Wolvaardt to the top of the women’s ODI batting rankings. The Proteas women’s skipper has reclaimed the summit position for the first time since November 2025, marking her ninth separate stint as the top-ranked ODI batter.
Despite the setback in ODI rankings, Smriti continues to shine in T20I rankings, climbing up one spot to fourth in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings with 753 rating points.
All-rounder Deepti Sharma has been one of the stellar performers with both bat and ball in the ongoing home ODI series against Zimbabwe women. After picking up five wickets across the first two ODIs against Zimbabwe, Deepti smashed a game-changing 106 off 86 balls in the second match. Her stellar display elevated her to 4th place in the ICC ODI All-Rounder Rankings.
Former Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur also made notable gains following her commanding ton in the second ODI against Zimbabwe women, where she scored 126 runs off 121 deliveries. Her blistering ton propelled her to 8th place in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings.
Indian women’s ODI opening batter Pratika Rawal has reached her career-best ranking as she continues to consolidate her reputation as a reliable pillar at the top. Rawal leapfrogged seven places to a career-best 21st position in the ODI batting rankings, reaching 598 rating points.
Her ranking surge came on the back of a brilliant 100 off 96 balls in the series opener, her third ODI century, followed by a classy 61 off 67 deliveries in the subsequent game. Meanwhile, explosive opener Shafali Verma also enjoyed significant upward mobility, jumping 15 places to 73rd in ODIs while moving up to 3rd in the T20I batting rankings.
India’s bowling attack also saw notable progress across formats:
The Indian women are enjoying success in the ongoing bilateral home series against the minnows, the Zimbabwe women. Having already clinched the three-match T20I series 3-0, the Indian women have taken a 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series as well and are primed to secure yet another clean sweep.
