Mujeeb Ur Rahman fit for NZ vs AFG: In a really important clash of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, New Zealand will be locking horns with Afghanistan on 7 November at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Incidentally, millions of Indian fans are cheering for Afghanistan to beat New Zealand as it will then give a chance to the Virat Kohli-led team for making a case in the semi-finals qualification. However, a victory will take New Zealand in the semis of the T20 World Cup 2021.
Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman delivered a remarkable performance against Scotland where he picked up an outstanding five-wicket haul and also bowled an impressive spell in the game against Pakistan. However, he picked up an injury and thus, missed the previous two games against Namibia and India. In his recent Twitter post, Mujeeb is seen preparing at the gym while doing some stretching and weightlifting. He is very much likely to be fit and available for today’s important match against New Zealand.
In a noticeable fact, if Afghanistan fail to defeat New Zealand in today match then it will be curtains down for India in this ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and they will only play for pride against Namibia on Monday. Former Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar has stated that Mujeeb Ur Rahman will definitely trouble the Kiwi batters as he has that mystery element. The legendary batter also added that Afghanistan’s three spinners, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi will be the key against New Zealand.
“Mujeeb is going to be such a key element for that game because he is very difficult to pick just like Varun Chakravarthy and he has got a little more experience than him. So, he and Rashid Khan are going to be the key,” said Sunil Gavaskar in a conversation with Star Sports.
