India Team lost their first match of the 2019 Cricket World Cup on Sunday. After winning 5 out of their first 6 matches, India failed to track down 338 against England on a flat pitch at Edgbaston on Sunday.
Wicketkeeper-batsman M.S. Dhoni once again found himself at the receiving end for not playing well against England Team as they lost by 31 runs at Edgbaston.
Scoring 337 on Sunday, India could only get 306/5 in their match of 50 overs with Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav remaining not out on 42 of 31 balls and 12 of 13 balls.
“If there was any team that had the ability to stop India’s winning run. It was England. Dhoni’s approach in the last few overs, however, was baffling,” said Manjrekar on Twitter.
Virat Kohli said in the interview that the wicket got slower towards the end of the game which made scoring a little difficult for MS Dhoni.
“I think MS was trying really hard to get the boundary but it wasn’t coming off. They bowled in good areas and the ball was stopping, hence it was difficult to bat towards the end,” Kohli said after the game finished.
