India went to Australia and returned with the Test and the ODI trophies and now Australia in their tour have already pocked the T20I trophy and will be eager to put their hands on the ODI trophy as well. But a already bruised Team India will look forward to avert the damage done in the T20I series.
And at the same time, both camps will also be thinking about the World Cup and especially India as they have some spots to fill and this is their last ODI assignment before the World Cup.
In the IND vs AUS 1st ODI these three players will be the ones to watch out for.
India's premier pace bowler, Jasprit Bumrah will play a huge role in this ODI series as Australia feature an aggressive middle-order comprising of hard-hitting finishers and hence the death overs are crucial.
Bumrah will be Kohli's go to man in the death overs but at the same time the Indian pacer will be excited to bowl to Aaron Finch with the new ball and will look to trouble him as he has done in the recent past.
Two games and two completely different yet decisive innings have made Glenn Maxwell the spearhead of Australia's batting unit.
The right-hand batsman has plenty of experience of playing on Indian wickets and he has also faced most of the Indian bowlers courtesy of the IPL. And hence he will be a huge player for the visitors in this series.
The question worth pondering about is the batting position of Maxwell. The Aussie batsman wants to bat up in the batting order but will the team management agree to it? That hundred in the second ODI has meanwhile made Maxwell's case stronger.
Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Virat Kohli will have to once again step up and bring the confidence back for his team mates after the serious drubbing in the T20I series.
The Indian skipper played some incredible sixes in the second T20I which only indicates his supreme form and he could well be once again India's most important batsman in the series.
