After sealing the series after winning the first two matches, India will now square off against in the 3rd one-day game on Wednesday. Men in Blue have completely outplayed Australia so far and they have also ticked all the boxes ahead of the World Cup 2023. All of their players in the World Cup squad are looking fit and they are performing at the same time.
Meanwhile, India have their seniors returning for this fixture and they will look to try another combination in their last one-day game ahead of the mega event. In this post, we will take a look at the five changes India could make in the IND vs AUS 3rd ODI.
1. Rohit Sharma in place of Shubman Gill
The Indian skipper was given a rest for the first two one-day matches against Australia. However, he will return for the third ODI to finalize his preparation ahead of the World Cup. He will directly swap the place with Shubman Gill in the playing XI as the latter has been given a rest after two stellar performances in the first two matches. Rohit Sharma looked in fine touch during the Asia Cup and he will look to get in even better touch in the home conditions.
2. Virat Kohli in place of Ruturaj Gaikwad
Ruturaj Gaikwad was part of the Indian squad for the first two matches only and he has been released from the squad. The Run Machine will return for the Indian side after taking a rest in the first two one-dayers. Virat Kohli is coming off a brilliant century against Pakistan in the Asia Cup and he will be the key for India at number three in the World Cup. King Kohli will be eager to get into the groove against a strong Aussie side ahead of the World Cup 2023.
3. Jasprit Bumrah in place of Prasidh Krishna
Just like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prasidh Krishna was a part of the Indian side for the first two matches only. Subsequently, the right-handed pacer has been released from the squad ahead of the third one-day. After missing the second one-day due to family commitments, Jasprit Bumrah is back for the third ODI. Since his return from injury, the pacer is again leading the Indian bowling attack from the front. The pacer bowled a brilliant spell of 1/43 in 10 overs during the first ODI against Australia and he will look to do even better in this fixture.
4 – Hardik Pandya in place of Shardul Thakur
Hardik Pandya was also given the rest for the first two one-day matches as a part of the workload management. India have released Shardul Thakur from the final one-day game and Pandya will directly replace him in the playing XI. The all-rounder is a key player for India in both departments of batting and bowling. Hardik Pandya impressed everyone in the Asia Cup with his bowling and batting. While he displayed his ability to bat in the crunch situation against Pakistan, he bowled brilliantly in all matches. The all-rounder will be eager to show his worth once against Australia in the final one-day.
5 – Mohammed Siraj in place of Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami got his chances in the first two matches in place of Mohammed Siraj as the latter was rested after a magical performance in the Asia Cup final. The veteran pacer grabbed his chance with both hands and registered a five-for in the first ODI. Meanwhile, he delivered a decent spell in the second ODI as well. However, he is likely to get a rest in the final match and Mohammed Siraj is likely to be back in the playing XI.
