India and Australia will be squaring off in the 4th and final Test of Border Gavaskar Trophy slated to take place on 9th March at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India is leading the series 2-1 and a win in this game will assure their WTC final berth.

Pitch has been an area of discussion throughout the series. The Australian media never looked satisfies right from the first Test at Nagpur where the surface was a blunt turner. The covers have been removed from the pitch in Ahmedabad on Tuesday morning. Take a look at the surface,

There are 4 center pitches at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The surfaces definitely don’t look like sand pit which we have seen in the matches played before in the series. The surface has some grass on it meaning both teams would be tempted to bring in an extra pacer in their eleven.

Nathan Lyon and Ravindra Jadeja have been exceptional with the ball throughout the series. They have bowled superbly and didn’t let the batters settle down. However, things could be a bit different in Ahmedabad looking at the surface as some purchase is definitely expected for the seamers. With Pat Cummins unavailable for the final Test as well, Steven Smith will continue to lead Australia. As per the pitch condition, one between Matthew Kuhnemann or Todd Murphy could make way for an extra seamer.
