IND vs AUS: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed that Indore will host the third Border-Gavaskar Test match. The match had initially been scheduled to take place in Dharamsala, however, the venue was deemed unfit for hosting the match following an inspection by the BCCI. The announcement of the new venue was made on Monday, February 13th. Earlier, Team India defeated Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the opening Test match to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match Test series.
The schedule for the Border-Gavaskar series remains unchanged, with the third Test set to take place in Indore from March 1st to 5th. Indore has already established itself as a premier cricket venue, having hosted two Tests in the past, both of which were between India and New Zealand in 2016 and India and Bangladesh in 2019. Additionally, the ground has also hosted an ODI match between India and New Zealand more recently.
The city of Indore has a rich history of hosting international cricket matches and is known for its enthusiastic cricket fans. India currently holds a 1-0 lead in the Border-Gavaskar series, having emerged victorious in the opening Test match held in Nagpur. The second Test of the series is scheduled to take place in New Delhi starting from February 17th.
