Cameron Green IND vs AUS: It is another disappointing setback for the visiting Australian team that their premier all-rounder Cameron Green was not available for selection in the first Test match against India at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. Australia are already without their two senior fast bowlers, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood atleast for the first of the four-match Test series due to their respective injury issues. However, things will definitely be really challenging for the Australian team in this Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023.

IND vs AUS: Why is Cameron Green is Not Playing Today’s India vs Australia 1st Test?

During the Perth Test match against South Africa, Australia’s all-rounder Cameron Green sustained a fracture in his finger but the right-hander showed immense courage to score a battling half-century in that game. However, he has not completely recovered from the finger injury and was not majorly fit to bowl ahead of the opening Test match against India. While having played as many as 18 Test matches so far, Green has scored 806 runs at an average of over 35 and also picked up a total of 23 wickets that includes a sensation five-wicket haul against South Africa. Australia have included Peter Handscomb and Matt Renshaw as the extra batters in their line-up who performed really well during the last India tour in 2017.

“We are going to bat. Looks like a pretty even wicket towards the middle. 2017 was a big series. Can’t wait to get this started. We have had good preparation. We feel we are really well placed. Two changes Todd Murphy in. Handscomb in for Travis Head,” said Australia captain Pat Cummins during the toss.
