KL Rahul IND vs AUS 2023

KL Rahul IND vs AUS: The biggest breaking news update coming from the Indian team is that the team management has finally dropped premier batsman KL Rahul for the third Test match against Australia being hosted at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. India have already taken a 2-0 lead in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 four-match Test series after having registered convincing victories in the opening two Test matches against Australia. The Indian team will now be eyeing to book a place in the World Test Championship finals to be played later this year after winning this third Test match.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, India captain Rohit Sharma revealed the big news that KL Rahul is not playing this third Test match against Australia. This also means that Shubman Gill will get a chance to open the batting with the skipper. Rahul has witnessed a really poor form during the past few months in the longest format of the game having scored just 126 runs in his last 10 Test innings. Moreover, the right-handed opener has managed to score as many as 38 runs in the three innings played in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. However, this is really a big opportunity for the in-form Shubman to express himself better after sitting out for the opening two Test matches and scoring truck loads of runs across formats during the last three months.

“We will have a bat first. It is a pretty good dressing room and like you said the morale is high. The guys are confident about their skills which is a good thing moving forward. We have played a lot of cricket (here) but this one (surface) is slightly different. Looks little dry and you have to adapt your skills and be at it all the time. We are there yet (WTC final) and we have to come and win this game, we have to try and repeat the things we did in the first two Tests. It is important to stay present. We have made two changes – Gill comes in place of KL. We have rested Shami and Umesh comes in,” said India captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
