Mohammed Siraj IND vs AUS: In an important news update, India have rested their premier pace bowler Mohammed Siraj for the crucial India vs Australia fourth and final Test match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India will be slightly low on confidence after having lost the Indore Test match by a margin of 9 wickets in a space of less than three days. The defeat in the third Test has left the Indian team to desperately win the fourth Test match against Australia in order to play the ICC World Test Championship final against the same opposition in June later this year.

IND vs AUS: Why is Mohammed Siraj Not Playing Today’s India vs Australia 4th Test?

After losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma stated that Mohammed Siraj is not part of the playing 11 in this final Test against Australia. Incidentally, Siraj bowled just 6 overs in the third Test match where his fellow pacer Umesh Yadav picked up three crucial wickets in the first innings. The right-arm fast bowler has picked up a single wicket in the first three Test matches of this series so far. Therefore, the team management has decided to rest him and bring back senior fast bowler Mohammed Shami in the side after being rested for the Indore Test. Shami bowled remarkably well during the first innings of the second Test against Australia on a pitch that had very little help for the pacers and he ended up taking as many as four wickets.
