Shubman Gill IND vs AUS 2023

Shubman Gill IND vs AUS: In a massive breaking news update, India are once again not playing their in-form opening batsman Shubman Gill in the second Test match against Australia scheduled to be hosted at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. On the back of a sensational century from skipper Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja’s amazing all-round performance, India demolished Australia by an innings and 132 runs during the opening Test match to take a 1-0 lead in the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023 four-match Test series.

After losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, India captain Rohit Sharma mentioned that they have made no changes in their top-order batting line-up for this second Test match against Australia. This also means that Shubman Gill will once again remain out of the playing XI after sitting out for the first Test match as well. Incidentally, Shubman has scored loads of runs in the last couple of months across the three formats of the game that includes as many as five centuries. He also scored a brilliant maiden Test hundred in Bangladesh. On the other hand, KL Rahul managed to score just 20 runs in the opening Test match against Australia as India posted 400 runs on a challenging wicket. Rahul will have a crucial opportunity to revive his form in the longer format of the game.

“We’d have batted first as well. The pitch is dry, but I think the application we showed last game put the toss away from the game. You just have to come out and play good cricket, and that’s been the chat in the group to not worry about the toss. (On Pujara’s 100th Test) We are all thrilled for him, his family is here as well. 100 Test matches isn’t easy, there have been plenty of ups and downs in his career. One change for us – Shreyas Iyer is in for Surya,” said Indian captain Rohit Sharma during the toss.
