Team India registered a thrilling 8-run win over England in the nail-biting IND vs ENG 4th T20I match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday. With India’s come from the behind victory, the exciting five-match T20I series is currently levelled with a 2-2 scoreline and now things are down to the ongoing series decider between two heavyweight teams.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first in the fifth T20I match, India got off to a rocking start with the duo of Rohit Sharma and captain Virat Kohli smashing the England bowlers all around the park from the very first over. Rohit and Kohli composed a cracking partnership of 94 runs where both the batters smashed brilliant half-centuries. Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was promoted ahead of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant and the swashbuckling batsman didn’t disappoint his team. Pandya smashed Chris Jordan for two incredible back-to-back sixes in the 19th over and even his captain was seen enjoying the spectacular strikes at the non-striker’s end.
Even after losing a crucial toss, India have successfully posted a massive total of 224 for 2 in their quota of 20 overs. Rohit and Virat gave India their best start in the powerplay by smashing a total of 60 runs in the first six overs. Rohit played a fabulous knock of 64 runs off 34 balls that included 5 sixes and 4 fours to set the tempo early on. Kohli also played a remarkable unbeaten innings of 80 runs off 52 balls while Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav smashed crucial cameos towards the finish. For England, majority of the bowlers ended with pretty expensive figures and now the batters will have to do the hardwork to chase down the big total and win the T20I series.
