IND vs ENG 1st Test: Star Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant never fails to entertain anyone be it the crowd, umpires, or even his own teammates. The constant chirping behind the wicket is just one aspect of his entertaining personality and the theatrics behind the stumps is another.

Only Rishabh Pant can get you these moments

Something interesting was witnessed on Day 2 at Chepauk against which even left the commentators in splits. The incident took place in the 151st over when Ollie Pope top-edged a full toss delivery of off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. For a few seconds, the ever-excited Pant gave the impression that it’s an easy catch for him.

In reality, the ball had flown behind Rishabh Pant but it took him a few seconds to realize it. Pant was seen running in front of the stumps in order to catch the ball but later realized that the ball was nowhere near him.

England in command with Root’s double-hundred

The visitors won a vital toss and have got 555/8 at the stumps on Day 2 as the skipper Joe Root led from the front. Continued from where he left yesterday, Root slammed a masterclass double-hundred and mentally pushed the hosts back very early.

The real test for India begins tomorrow when they have to quickly pick the remaining two wickets and bat at least five sessions so that the bowlers get a good amount of rest. Indian bowlers had a better day with the ball than yesterday. Shahbaz Nadeem picked two wickets along with R Ashwin, J Bumrah, and I Sharma while Washington Sundar is still in search of his first Test wicket on home soil.
