IND vs ENG 4th Test : Jasprit Bumrah got to bowl just 6 overs in the 3rd test that got concluded inside 2 days in which India hammered England by 10 wickets to go 2-1 up in the series. It was the first test in Jasprit Bumrah’s 19 test career where he went wicket less.

The pitch assisted spinners big time and fast bowlers from both the sides weren’t of any use as a result, only 38 overs were bowled by fast bowlers out of 142.2 overs in the test. The exact reasons are unknown and in all likelihood, BCCI might not name a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah as they already have 2 quality pacers in the squad in Mohammad Siraj and Umesh Yadav to choose from as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah in the playing 11.Umesh Yadav

It was expected that Umesh Yadav will be the part of playing 11 in the pink ball test as well but India read the pitch to perfection and went ahead with 3 spinners in the XI which proved to be a master stroke. Although, the 3rd spinner in Washington Sundar didn’t need bowl more than 4 balls in the test, the need for the fast bowlers were zero in that wicket.

 

Will England level the series?

India vs England series started with an upset with England hammering India in the first game but things went as expected in the remaining 2 games. England will be coming hard at India in the 4th test as this is a golden opportunity to draw a series in India which is no small feat by any means.
