Kane Williamson IND vs NZ: In a massive breaking news update, New Zealand’s regular captain Kane Williamson will not be playing the three-match T20I series against India after having missed the three-match ODI series against the same opposition earlier this month. The visiting New Zealand team did not got off to the best of starts in this India tour as they suffered a poor 0-3 ODI series whitewash as their top-order batters failed to contribute much with the bat.
During the second T20I match against India last year in November, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson scored an impressive half-century but failed to take his team over the line. In his T20I career, Kane has scored more than 2400 runs from 87 games at a strike-rate of close to 125 that includes as many as 17 half-centuries. However, the senior right-handed batsman brings a lot more stability in the New Zealand team across formats. In his absence, left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner will captain the New Zealand T20I side in this three-match T20I series with the opening encounter scheduled to be played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on 27 January, 2023 (Friday).
New Zealand will look to accommodate Mark Chapman in the playing XI for this 1st T20I game against India.
1. Finn Allen 2. Devon Conway (wk) 3. Mark Chapman 4. Glenn Phillips 5. Daryl Mitchell 6. Michael Bracewell 7. Mitchell Santner (C) 8. Lockie Ferguson 9. Ish Sodhi 10. Blair Tickner 11. Jacob Duffy
