Kane Williamson IND vs NZ: New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will not be participating in the upcoming India tour, which includes a three-match ODI series and three T20I games. In his absence, senior wicket-keeper batsman Tom Latham will lead the team. Williamson recently scored a crucial half-century in the final ODI game against Pakistan, and also scored a double century in the first Test.
The New Zealand team will miss their premier batsman during this India series, but have included Henry Nicholls in the playing XI for the first two ODIs. Williamson has a strong track record for New Zealand, having scored over 6500 runs from 161 ODI matches at an average of 47, including 42 fifties and 13 hundreds.
While Williamson will be a big loss for the team, Latham has a good record as well. He has played over 100 ODI matches and has an average of 38. New Zealand will be hoping that he can lead the team to victory in this series and continue the momentum they gained from their recent 2-1 ODI series win in Pakistan. The visitors conceded a poor 12-run defeat against India in the opening ODI game and will be eyeing a fightback in this second ODI game.
