Kane Williamson IND vs NZ: The biggest setback for the visiting New Zealand side is that their regular captain Kane Williamson is not available for selection in the ongoing three-match T20I series against India. New Zealand managed to defeat hosts India by a convincing margin of 21 runs in the opening T20I game on a pitch which was surprising turning square especially in the second innings. With a lead of 1-0 in the three-match T20I series, the Kiwi team will now be eyeing to seal the series in their favour by winning this second match as well in Lucknow on Sunday.
Kane Williamson has a successful T20I career, having scored more than 2400 runs in 87 games with a strike rate of 125 and 17 half-centuries. He also brings stability to the New Zealand team in all formats. However, in his absence, the duo of Devon Conway and Daryl Mitchell scored brilliant half-centuries each in the first T20I against India. Mitchell played an amazing match-winning knock of 59 runs off 30 balls that helped New Zealand reach a challenging total of 176 runs. On the other hand, stand-in captain Mitchell Santner picked up the vital wickets of Shubman Gill, Deepak Hooda and ended up conceding as many as 11 runs in his quota of four overs.
