WATCH: Team India contesting in Intra-Squad Match ahead of WTC Final

Team India compete in intra-squad match: As the World Test Championship (WTC) Final edges closer, Virat Kohli and his men are preparing full throttle and are currently contesting in an intra-squad four-day match. The BCCI recently shared a video of Day 1 on Twitter. In the video, we could see the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, all sweating it out on the pitch.

The Indian team arrived in England on June 3 and went through a three-day quarantine in the process. The WTC Final between India and New Zealand will be contested from June 18-22 at the Ageas Bowl Stadium, in Southampton.

Talking about New Zealand, they too have one eye on the WTC Final, as they’ve rested six players in the second Test versus England. Nevertheless, some of the players are warmed up and are rearing to have a go in the mega event.

WTC Points Table

Both India and New Zealand have played some quality cricket over the past two years. India reside at the top spot in the World Test Championship points table with 12 wins, four defeats, a draw and 520 points from the 17 matches.

New Zealand, on the other hand, are a spot below at second, with 420 points, courtesy seven wins, and four defeats from the 11 games.

Nevertheless, the winner of the finals will enter the history books by becoming the first ever team to be crowned as the World Test Champions.

Players such as Ajinkya Rahane, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav have stated that winning the finals of the WTC could be of similar nature to that of winning World Cup. Both sides have ample quality in their respective squads, and we can expect nothing short of a cracker of an affair.
