This impressive result has also earned the Indian team a place in the upcoming ICC World Test Championship final, where they will compete against Australia. However, India ended up suffering a poor 1-2 series defeat in the three-match ODI series at home against Australia which came after brilliant back-to-back white-ball series victories over New Zealand and Sri Lanka in the 2023 calendar year. The Indian cricketers will now be seen in action during the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) season where they will be representing their respective franchises.
