India vs Sri Lanka: 3 Changes India can make for IND vs SL 2nd T20I

Although India ticked various boxes in the first game but there were a few areas of concern as well for them, which they would look to rectify in the next game. With still a day remaining for the second game, let’s take a look at 3 Changes India can make for IND vs SL 2nd T20I:

1. Rahul Tripathi in place of Sanju Samson

India can look to draft Rahul Tripathi in place of Sanju Samson for the second T20I against Sri Lanka. Tripathi has been travelling for a while with India but hasn’t got an opportunity yet. He had a staggering domestic season and is in red-hot form. He can replace Samson, who struggled to get going in the first game and scored just 4 runs. With India looking to play fearless cricket, Tripathi can be a good addition to the side with his aggressive shot-making.

2. Arshdeep Singh in place of Harshal Patel

Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh missed the first game due to illness and in his place, Shivam Mavi was handed the debut cap. The youngster displayed a staggering performance and picked 4 wickets on the debut. Therefore he’s expected to keep his place. However, Harshal Patel’s place can be in danger as he hasn’t been quite up to the mark with his performance and is leaking runs regularly. He conceded 41 runs in the first game as well and it is expected that he will make for Arshdeep in the second game. The left-pacer on the other hand has been India’s best pacer in T20I of late.

3.Washington Sundar in place of Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal could also make it for Washington Sundar in the second T20I against Sri Lanka. The leg-spinner has been consistently failing to take wickets and is leaking runs at a fair rate. Clouds are hovering over his place and with Washington possessing ability with the bat, he will well be ahead of Chahal in the pecking order now. The leggie conceded 26 runs in just 2 overs in the first game as the opposition targeted him. Sundar on the other hand has performed staggering well when given the opportunity and therefore could be in line for the second game.
