In a previous report given by the BCCI, July is the slot they are looking forward to host the tournament if things get better. Apart from July, they are also eyeing a slot in September-October which is proposed for the T20 World Cup.

However, the Sep-Oct slot can only be considered if ICC postpones the T20 World Cup till next year or the mega event gets cancelled.

The BCCI released a statement a few days back which stated;

We can’t cancel IPL as it means losses to the tune of Rs 3000 crore. The BCCI will work with all stakeholders to find a solution but for that normalcy needs to return. It’s not possible for BCCI bigwigs to commit that IPL can happen at which particular slot
