Dhoni Returns: Mahendra Singh Dhoni has hit the nets to prepare for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season. The captain cool has also cleared the mandatory RT-PCR test during their quarantine period, along with other CSK players.
Former Indian international batsman Ambati Rayudu is also part of the CSK camp that started on Monday. In addition, players such as N Jagadeesan, C Hari Nishaanth and R Sai Kishore, as well as medium-pacer Harishankar Reddy, also checked in for the training camp.
“The CSK players completed their quarantine requirements and began practice yesterday. Gradually, the others will join the camp after a period of quarantine,” as per sources.
Considering the high standards Dhoni-led CSK has set over the years, it was an underwhelming campaign for the four-time IPL champions in Dubai. But the hopes are expectedly high this time around after CSK shelled out money on new players.
England all-rounder Moeen Ali was signed for a whopping INR 7 crores. The 33-year-old Englishman will provide the much-needed balance to the team and take some pressure off Ravindra Jadeja’s shoulders.
CSK also spent INR 9.25 crores for the services of Karnataka’s all-rounder K Gowtham. He brings a plethora of experience, while his batting can be the icing on the cake.
