The countdown for the second phase of the IPL 2021 which will take place in the UAE has started to begin. The tournament will kick start next month and a total of 31 games, including the playoffs, will be played in this phase of the tournament with a summit clash set to be played on October 15. Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah are the three venues that will host the remaining IPL 2021 matches.

MS Dhoni hits Big Sixes in the nets ahead of the tournament 

Chennai Super Kings was one of the teams to reach the gulf country early and start their preparations for the second half of the marquee tournament. The three-time champions are currently preparing in Dubai as all the players are sweating hard and are leaving no stone unturned in the practice sessions.

However, with less than one month remaining for the commencement of the league, skipper MS Dhoni has made all his fans go berserk. The wicketkeeper-batsman was seen practising and smashing the balls out of the ground with ease.

Notably, CSK skipper had the worst season in 2020 as he managed just 200 runs from 14 games, the least number of runs he has scored in an IPL season. While in the first half of the IPL 2021 he has scored only 37 runs in 7 innings so far and if he’s in the form as seen in the video, he can posses a major threat for other teams and can add another IPL trophy in his cabinet.

Chennai Super Kings in the second spot behind Delhi Capitals

MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings was placed second in the IPL 2021 points table before the tournament was postponed on May 4 due to the COVID-19 crisis in the country. They have managed 10 points from seven matches so far after making a slow start to the competition. They will next face defending champions Mumbai Indians on 19th September in what will be the 30th match of the season.
