PBKS Playing 11: Preity Zinta and the team management decided to rechristen King XI Punjab as Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of IPL 2021 season. Asked for the reason behind the decision to rename the team, KL Rahul revealed that the idea was to give the franchise a fresh start. PBKS captain also insisted that the decision will help the team to change its fortunes in the upcoming season.
Whether it happens or not, or PBKS go all the way and end their title drought this season, there’s no doubt about the potential of the team. On any given day, KL Rahul and Co are more than capable of giving any team a run for its own money.
KL Rahul battled hard during the India vs England T20i series. Though he got runs in the ODI series, questions hang over his spot in the Indian national team. That said, IPL 2021 offers a good opportunity to regain the reputation. He will both captain and open the PBKS batting along with Mayank Aggarwal.

Nicholas Pooran batted at no-4 last season and that should be the case this season as well. Chris Gayle is likely to bat at no-3 in PBKS playing 11.

Dawid Malan is the No-1 T20I batsman, but Moises Henriques has IPL experience. The Australian offers more due to his all-around skills. He makes PBKS stronger.
Shahrukh Khan has been racking up good numbers in the domestic circuit and should be given an opportunity in the middle-order, along with Deepak Hooda.

The presence of Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi in the team means Fabian Allen may not get a game at the start.
Mohammad Shami will be the leader of the bowling unit, with Jhye Richardson and Arshdeep Singh offering support.

Punjab Kings Schedule: Punjab Kings’ sixth-placed finish last season may feel all the more aching for the fans of this team considering Punjab could have qualified for the playoffs had they won one of their last two games.
But this season is a fresh start and PBKS will look to make a head start in the competition, leaving nothing to luck.
No game is easy in the IPL 2021 and Punjab could certainly feel the heat as they are set to play Rajasthan Royals (RR), on April 12, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capital (DC), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Mumbai Indians (MI) in their first five league games.
