Tata IPL 2025 is back and swinging in full flow. The coveted tournament, which was suspended for 9 days after geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan, is back in full swing, and we now know that the final is all set to be played on June 3 at the biggest cricket stadium in the world, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

With the tournament up and running, all 10 teams have had to make some adjustments in their respective squads, especially with most of the overseas players opting not to return for the rest of the season. Let’s take a look at which players will be missing the rest of the season and who will replace them.

IPL 2025: Who is available and who’s not?

As IPL 2025 nears its final stages, teams are adjusting their squads due to injuries and international commitments. Here’s an updated look at overseas player availability across franchises:

  • Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie, and Kyle Jamieson have joined the squad for the playoffs.
  • Injured Glenn Maxwell has been replaced by Mitchell Owen.
  • Marco Jansen will depart after the league stage for the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

  • William O’Rourke replaces Mayank Yadav, who is sidelined due to injury.
  • Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, David Miller, and Matthew Breetzke are available until the league stage.
  • Shamar Joseph will not return for the remainder of the tournament.

  • Ryan Rickelton and Corbin Bosch will also depart before the playoffs.
  • Richard Gleeson and Charith Asalanka will join MI if they qualify for the playoffs.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

  • Mustafizur Rahman replaces Jake Fraser-McGurk. However, the Bangladesh bowler will be available only for DC’s league stage matches. If DC makes it to the playoffs, they will have to name another replacement.
  • Mitchell Starc and Donovan Ferreira will not return for the remainder of IPL 2025.
  • Tristan Stubbs is available until the league stage but will leave before the playoffs.
  • DC have named Sediqullah Atal as a replacement for the unavailable Harry Brook.

  • Kusal Mendis will join GT for the playoffs.
  • Kagiso Rabada (till league stages), Sherfane Rutherford, Rashid Khan, Karim Janat, Dasun Shanaka, and Gerald Coetzee are available for now.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

  • All their overseas players are available as of now.
  • Josh Hazlewood has decided to return for the remainder of the IPL but will go through several tests for his shoulder niggle. If declared fit, he will feature in the playoffs for RCB; otherwise, Cricket Australia will ensure to keep him fit before the World Test Championship.
  • Zimbabwe’s tall and lanky pacer Blessing Muzarabani has been named as a replacement for South African pacer Lungi Ngidi, who will return before the playoffs.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

  • The English duo of Sam Curran and Jamie Overton have opted not to return for the remainder of the tournament.
  • Aussie pacer Nathan Ellis has also followed in the footsteps of Curran and Overton.

Rajasthan Royals (RR)

  • For Royals, their premier pacer Jofra Archer opted to stay back home and not return for the remainder of the season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

  • All their overseas players are available for selection.
  • Travis Head, however, is down with COVID-19, whereas Wiaan Mulder will leave on May 25 to prepare for the World Test Championship.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)

  • The South African duo of Anrich Nortje and Quinton de Kock have decided to stay home. England’s Moeen Ali hasn’t returned, either.
  • West Indies hard-hitting batter Rovman Powell is ruled out due to injury.

With crucial matches ahead, teams will rely on their available overseas players to make a strong push in the remainder of the tournament.
