The ‘universe boss’ Chris Gayle holds the record for scoring the most runs in an innings in the league. He smashed 175 runs off 66 balls against Pune Warriors while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2013 season. Gayle ran to the three-figure mark in only 30 balls during his explosive innings.

His unbeaten knock included 13 fours and 17 sixes. Bangalore posted 263/5 with the help of Gayle’s ton and restricted Pune to 133/9 thus winning the match by 130 runs.

Brendon McCullum set the stage on fire when he smacked 158 runs off 73 balls in the very first match of the inaugural season of IPL. He played this knock while being part of Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The former Kiwi captain smashed 10 fours and 13 sixes in his unbeaten inning. Kolkata won this match very comfortably by a big margin of 140 runs.

We are hopeful to see another giant innings comes this season of 17 which will place itself on the Top 10 List. Keep an eye on players like Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaukwad, Jason Roy, Quinton de Kock and Jos Buttler. Runs are coming as a fountain this year.
