The IPL fever has well and truly begun among the fans. Updates are coming thick and fast in matters surrounding the IPL 2020 edition. The governing council of The Indian Premier League (IPL) had a meeting on Monday, Jan 27th. Several important topics were covered as a part of this discussion and here are a few takeaways from the all-important meeting.

Dates and timings finalized
The very first agenda of the meeting is said to be the date and time of the IPL matches. Especially the timing was a primary focus as there were speculations of the 8 pm match being preponed to 7:30 pm IST. However, the governing council has decided to stick with 8 pm matches. The start date and end date is said to be finalised as well.

The most popular domestic T20 league of the world will commence on March 29 and culminate on May 24th. Generally, the norm is to kick off the tournament around the second week of April but this time it is a bit earlier. One major reason for the earlier start of the tournament is that they have decided to reduce the number of doubleheaders to be held.

Over the course of the whole tournament, there will only be 6 matches held at 4 pm. The finals of the cash-rich league will be held in Mumbai as they deserved being the defending champions of the IPL 2019.

All Stars Charity Game

The BCCI president also confirmed that the board will conduct a charity match ahead of the actual tournament and that match is said to be an All Stars match with several big names expected to participate in it for a good cause. The date, time, venue and participants will be announced soon.
