IRE Playing 11: Ireland will face Zimbabwe in the first T20I of the tour here at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, Dublin. This series will be important for the hosts given that T20 World Cup is just two months away. Ireland will look to make this series count and find their best combination. They gave South Africa a scare in their recent T20 series at home but their inexperience cost them the series. The Irish will look to regain some confidence against a less fancied Zimbabwe side. Both teams have played 3 T20Is against each other in which Ireland leads Zimbabwe 2-1.
Andrew Balbirnie (C)
Lorcan Tucker (wk)
Ireland has a strong batting line-up with Paul Stirling at the top. Stirling has been in good form in the recently concluded Hundred and will be a big threat to Zimbabwe bowlers. The middle order looks settled with captain Balnirne, Tector and Dockrell. In seaming conditions, Ireland’s fast bowlers will be important. Josh Little can play a huge role in these series with his pace and wicket-taking abilities. Spinner Simi Singh showed excellent form with bat and ball in SA series recently.
