Team India is taking on New Zealand in the 3rd T20I at Seddon Park in Hamilton and is looking well in control at the moment, courtesy Hitman Rohit Sharma’s fifty off just 23 deliveries. The Men in Blue are already ahead in the five-match T20I series by 2-0 and with the kind of start in the ongoing match, it seems as the visitors have already sealed the series.

India off to a flying start

After winning the toss in Hamilton, Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson invited India to set up the target. In-form KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma gave India a flying start with the scoreboard reading 82-0 after 8 overs, including Rohit Sharma’s carnage against Hamish Bennett. In the sixth over, Hitman smashed five consecutive boundaries – 6, 6, 4, 4, 6 and completed his fifty in just 23 balls.

Shivam Dube at number 03

There was some relief to the NZ camp as India lost KL Rahul at the last ball of 9th over bowled by Colin De Grandhomme. However, what followed it was more interesting – Change in the batting order – Shivam Dube promoted ahead of skipper Kohli.

While the Southpaw was sent to join the party with Rohit Sharma and set the tempo up, Shivam Dube kind of created pressure on Rohit Sharma which eventually cost India the second wicket.

“Inexperience showing” mutters VVS Laxman on air-

The eleventh over was a “double strike for New Zealand” as Hamish Bennett first got rid off Rohit Sharma and then removed Shivam Dube and showing Dube’s promotion doesn’t work for India.
