WATCH: Ravindra Jadeja strikes quickfire fifty on Day 3 of Intra-Squad Match ahead of WTC Final

Jadeja impresses: Team India’s specialist all rounder Ravindra Jadeja seems to be all set to confront New Zealand in the much anticipated World Test Championship Final. As play went forward on Day 3 of the intra-squad match simulation, Jadeja impressed one and all through his gutsy knock of an unbeaten 54 from 76 deliveries.

The last time Ravindra Jadeja was seen in the international circuit was during the Australia tour earlier this year. However, the 32-year-old suffered a fracture to his finger while batting in the 3rd Test, which kept him on the sidelines for quite a while.

The all-rounder is now back with a bang, and is certainly in contention of making it to the playing eleven.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were the two captains of the match, and there were quite a few other noteworthy performances as well. Wicket keeper batman Rishabh Pant smashed an unbeaten knock of 121 from 94 balls, while, opener Shubman Gill struck 85 runs off 135 deliveries. Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj did well to bag a couple of wickets too.

Talking about New Zealand, they will be flying with confidence after beating the hosts England by eight wickets in the second Test, and claiming the series in the process. A draw in the first Test, followed by a comfortable win in the second, now puts New Zealand on the top spot in the ICC Test Rankings.

WTC Final Match Date

Although, one might say that New Zealand will be the better ‘warmed up’ side, the intra-squad match of the Indian team could be of big use.
