Prasidh Krishna Covid 19: Covid 19 continues to wreak havoc for Indian cricket days after the Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed after the deadly virus breached into the secured bio-bubble. KKR was the first IPL team to report the bad news that three players from their camp contracted the virus. That news started a chain reaction with other teams and their players also returning positive with Covid-19. With India succumbing to Coronavirus, and IPL’s bubble no longer immune, the Board of Control for Cricket in India had to swallow a hard pill and decided to postpone the IPL 2021 for the time being.
As per the latest developments, KKR fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been tested positive for Covid 19.
“He is down with Covid-19. The results have come in and he has tested positive,” as per sources.
The 25-year-old Indian international is the fourth player from KKR to return a positive test after Varun Chakravarthy, Tim Seifert and Sandeep Warrier. Pat Cummins was placed in isolation, but the Australian and the rest of the KKR players returned a negative test.
Prasidh‘s stock has been on the rise since a stellar performance in IPL 2020 which saw him earned a spot in India’s limited-overs squad against England. Krishna has also been included as a standby player in the Indian team for the upcoming World Test Championship.
New Zealand batsman Tim Seifert won’t be travelling back to his native country with his teammates after returning a positive Covid 19 test.
As per reports, Seifert, who plays for KKR in IPL, has been placed in quarantine after showing moderate symptoms. He also failed his pre-departure PCR tests.
BCCI has arranged special charter flights for foreign IPL contingents. One flight for New Zealand has already left while the other one is likely to depart today.
