Though the Men in Blue took quite a beating at the Wankhede as Australia cruised their way to a 10-wicket win, there was someone in the stands who did catch the eye.
A massive Virat Kohli fan, by the name of Chirag Khilare, grabbed the limelight for a unique haircut which resembled the face of the Indian captain at the back of his head.
Chirag Khilare expressed his admiration for Kohli on social media by posting a picture of his ‘new look.'
After turning loads of heads last evening, this is what Chirag had to say in an interview.
“For many years now, I have been following Virat in every match in India and have been a fan of him since he became the captain of the Under-19 team,” he was quoted saying
“My dream is to meet Kohli and when I will meet him, I will first touch his feet and hug him and capture that moment through a photograph,” he further added.
However, the first One Day International was a forgetful one for the Indian fans and the players. Having won the toss, the Aussie skipper Aaron Finch decided to have a bowl first.
Rohit Sharma departed early, but Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul did put up a fight through a 121-run stand. Apart from that, the Indian batsmen failed to string in some sort of momentum as they lost wickets at regular intervals till they were eventually bundled out for 255 in 49 overs.
The Indian cricket fans will be hoping for India to bounce back in the second ODI at Rajkot in order to stay alive in the three-match series. The next game will take place on Friday as the first ball will be bowled by 1:30 PM (IST)
