RCB has finally moved over Shahbaz Ahmed whose skills haven’t been used by the team in this season. Shahbaz being a bowling all-rounder has barely bowled four overs in the 8 matches he has played, and with the bat he has returned only 42 runs from 6 innings. His exclusion was on the cards, and it doesn’t come as a surprise. Here’s what Royal Challengers’ skipper Faf du Plessis said at the toss,

“We are gonna have a bat. There will be little more turn in the second innings I feel. I feel much better now. We got Hazlewood in tonight, and Anuj comes in for Shahbaz. Our squad is well-suited for these conditions. It is just about batting well tonight.“

Shahbaz had joined the Indian Premier League in 2020, representing the RCB team. He was retained by the franchise in 2021 for his base price of 20 lakhs.
