MI vs SRH IPL Stats : Mumbai Indians defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs in the 9th match of Indian Premier League 2021 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai and registered their second win of the season while Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their third straight loss.

Mumbai Indians won the toss and opted to bat first. Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma gave a good start of 55 runs in 6 odd overs. Rohit got out for 32 runs off Vijay Shankar bowling. Suryakumar Yadav too perished cheaply and in the second half of the innings Mumbai Indians batsmen like other matches couldn’t score quick runs. In the end Kieron Pollard’s cameo of 35* runs off 22 balls helped Mumbai Indians to post a good total of 150/5 on the board.
In reply Jonny Bairstow and David Warner gave a flying start to their team. They added 67 runs in 7 overs and the match was looking in Hyderabad’s favour but in coming overs Jonny Bairstow got hit wicket out while Warner got run out and their wickets gave a life line to Mumbai and in the second half their bowlers specially Rahul Chahar did very well and set the match for a close finish. The likes of Virat Singh, Abhishek Sharma and Abdul Samad had no clue against Mumbai bowlers. Vijay Shankar hit couple of sixes but Jasprit Bumrah sent him back to dressing room in his last over. In the final over of innings Hyderabad needed 16 runs to win but Trent Boult’s yorkers were too hot for them to handle and whole team bowled out for 137 runs in 19.4 overs.
