It will be fair to say that the Virat Kohli-led team lost the ultimate Test match in a mere three days as Day 1 and Day 4 were completely washed out. It was a massive disappointment both for the team and fans as once again India failed to win an ICC event.

In the IND vs NZ WTC Final, 26-year-old Kyle Jamieson delivered a sensational match-defining performance where he took 7 wickets in the Test match including a superb five-wicket haul in the first innings. Jamieson was named the Player of the Match as New Zealand were crowned the winners of inaugural WTC title.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli & Co. have taken a 15-20 day break from the game post the WTC final loss in order to refresh themselves and spend some time with their family. India will be playing a five-match Test series against England starting with the first Test from August 4 in Nottingham.

“We obviously wanted first-class games, which I believe have not been given to us. I don’t know what the reasons for that are. But yeah, other than that I think our preparation time will be ample for us to be ready for the first Test,” said India captain Virat Kohli post WTC final defeat.
