Nobody questioned Jasprit Bumrah

Last year, former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir shocked the entire cricketing world after announcing a surprising retirement from international cricket. The left-arm pacer clearly mentioned that his rifts with the Pakistan team management forced him to take the big decision about his cricketing career. Being a senior player, Amir was unhappy with the lack of support and the treatment from the team management and now in the recent development, he has come up with a controversial statement where the speedster cited the example of India backing Jasprit Bumrah during his poor form.

“Nobody questioned Jasprit Bumrah” says Mohammed Amir hitting back at Pakistan management

Jasprit Bumrah is currently the spearhead of the Indian pace bowling attack and is undoubtedly one of the biggest match-winners that the country has produced across the three formats. During a recent conversation, Amir mentioned that Bumrah had the backing of the Indian team management when he was not performing well in a series against Australia. The Pakistani pacer stated that nobody from the Indian management raised any questions and rather stood with Bumrah despite his dismal show.

“I think it is not the right mindset to look at the performance of only four or five matches. If you remember, [Jasprit] Bumrah had only one wicket in 16 matches when he was playing the Australia series, but nobody questioned him because they knew that he is a match-winning bowler. That was the time they [Indian team management] should have supported him, and they did that,” stated Amir as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.

Mohammad Amir explains the job of the team management

The former Pakistani pacer further went on to mention that the team management is given the specific role to help out a player during his rough patch and should not drop him for the same. Amir also quashed all the reports and rumours of him coming out of retirement and rejoining the Pakistan National Team.

“You are given the job to help the player when he is not performing and not just discard him from the side. If it’s like this, then we should give you an entire team made up of players like Cristiano Ronaldo so that you can sit back and relax and do nothing,” concluded Amir.
