NZ vs IND: Kane Williamson set to miss the third T20I against India; Tim Southee to captain Black Caps

The focus now shifts towards the third T20I, which will be played on Tuesday (22nd November) at McLean Park in Napier. India is just a win away to bag the series whereas New Zealand can only level the series. It is expected that both the teams will come out all guns blazing and bring their A game.

However, ahead of the match, New Zealand have suffered a blow as skipper Kane Williamson will miss the third game against India. The right-hander has to attend a pre-arranged medical appointment on Tuesday and will be unavailable for the game.

Williamson played a decent knock in the first T20I. Although he struggled with his timing, but he managed a fifty and scored 61 in 52 balls. His absence will leave a void in New Zealand’s batting line up as he’s known for providing stability to the middle order.

In his absence, New Zealand Cricket have named Mark Chapman in the side and pacer Tim Southee will lead the team for the third game. The regular skipper will rejoin the squad on Wednesday (23rd November) for the upcoming ODI series.
