Pakistan are coming to the mega event after an unceremonious exit from the Asia Cup 2023. The Asian giants had a horrendous run in the Super Four stage of the continental event. First, they were outclassed by the arch-rivals India in a one-sided game and then lost to a depleted Sri Lankan side to crash out of the tournament.

Pakistan team faced a lot of backlash and media scrutiny following their Asia Cup exit and there were rumours of some wholesale changes in the squad. However, the national selectors have kept their faith in the same side as they had only one forced change in the World Cup squad.

Pakistan will begin their campaign in the ODI World Cup 2023 as they face Netherlands in the second match of the competition on Friday. The game will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad at 2:00 PM IST. The Men in Green have their first two matches against the weaker sides and they will look to build some early momentum in the competition with a win over Netherlands.
