In a significant development for the Pakistan cricket team, the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka will see a notable omission from the playing XI – Fakhar Zaman.
The decision to exclude Fakhar Zaman from the lineup stems from concerns over his recent run of poor form, a move made in the best interest of the team’s performance. Replacing Fakhar Zaman at the top of the order will be Mohammad Haris, who has been tasked with the responsibility of providing Pakistan with a strong start.
While Fakhar Zaman’s exclusion may come as a surprise to some since Fakhar Zaman is renowned for his explosive batting at the top of the order, and PAK have a virtual semi-final to win. A recent dip in performance led to the team management’s decision to drop him from the playing XI.
