Pakistan vs England Test Match to be Cancelled? Here’s the update

Pakistan vs England: In a big breaking news update, the upcoming Pakistan vs England 1st Test match scheduled to begin from 1 December, 2022 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi currently seems to be under massive threat. After successfully hosting Australia for 3 Tests, 3 ODIs and a T20I at home earlier this year, Pakistan are all set to host England for a three-match Test series and the English side will be playing their first Test in Pakistan in the last 17 years. Also, earlier this year, England travelled to Pakistan to feature in a 7-match T20I series which they eventually won by 4-3 margin.

Why Pakistan vs England Test match will be cancelled?

According to some recent sources, as many as 12 members of the England Test squad including captain Ben Stokes has been infected by a virus and all of them have been advised to rest at the team hotel on Wednesday. None of the members of the England Test squad have shown any symptoms of Covid-19 at this moment. The likes of Joe Root, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Keaton Jennings and Harry Brook attended the optional practice session on Wednesday ahead of the PAK vs ENG 1st Test.

In other update, a suicide bomber was involved in an accident with a police vehicle in the southwestern Pakistan city of Quetta where two civilians and atleast one police officer have been killed while many other casualties have also been reported. As per sources, a group called Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have taken the responsibility of the bomb blast.

“Several players and staff members, including England captain Ben Stokes, are feeling unwell and have been advised to stay at the hotel to rest up,” said the England and Wales Cricket Board in a statement.
