Vijay Shankar

In what comes as a shock for one and all, the Gujarat Titans, who are playing against Punjab Kings at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, haven’t included Vijay Shankar in their eleven. Shankar was the top scorer in GT’s last game against KKR and despite his brilliant innings the all-rounder has been dropped from the eleven.

PBKS vs GT: Why is Vijay Shankar Not Playing Today’s IPL 2023 Match?

The reigning champions Gujarat Titans have made a few changes heading into this fixture. Left arm seamer Yash Dayal has been replaced by veteran Mohit Sharma, whereas, Vijay Shankar who was their leading run scorer in the game against KKR is seen among the substitutes. With GT bowling first, expect Titans to slot in Shankar in the second innings as a specialist batter. Here’s what Hardik Pandya said at the toss,

“Bowling first. Just looks like a good wicket, and from whatever I’ve seen it’s good to chase. Was a one-in-a-million defeat. We are a kind of team that takes it with a smile. Played good cricket until that last over. It happens. It’s a fresh game. We’ll come out and smile and throw some punches. I don’t know (any changes?). It’s there in the paper.”
