PBKS vs RR IPL 2021: The Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be resuming their IPL 2021 campaign against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on 21 September (Tuesday). Rajasthan Royals occupy the sixth position on the points tally with three wins from seven matches. The 2007 IPL winners will be missing three of their key players in Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer for the remainder of the tournament.
The Rajasthan Royals have included the likes of Evin Lewis, Oshane Thomas, Tabraiz Shamsi, Liam Livingstone, Glenn Phillips and Gerald Coetzee for the UAE leg of the tournament. It will be really difficult for skipper Sanju Samson and the rest of the RR team management to pick their four overseas players for the opening match against Punjab Kings. Evin Lewis, Chris Morris, Liam Livingstone and Tabraiz Shamsi are four likely foreign players in RR playing XI.

On the other hand, there will be some selection issues for the Punjab Kings as well in their first match in the IPL 2021 Phase 2. Wicket-keeper batsman Nicholas Pooran did not had the best of performances in the first half but was really impressive in the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Also, there will be a toss up between Chris Jordan and Nathan Ellis for the final overseas slot. English leg-spinner Adil Rashid is likely to make his IPL debut against Rajasthan Royals.
