It is time to battle for Asian supremacy as six teams are all set to lock horns in the Asia Cup 2023. The competition will begin on the 30th August and it will be played in the ODI format. Hence, the tournament will also provide an opportunity for the teams to finalize their preparation for the upcoming ODI World Cup.
Six teams are divided into two groups of three each as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are sitting in Group A, while India, Pakistan, and Nepal are pooled in Group B. The top two sides from each group will advance to the Super 4 followed by the final among the best two sides in the tournament.
With the ODI World Cup so close, in this post, we predict the playing 11 of all teams for the Asia Cup 2023.
India have picked up a strong squad for the tournament and they will look to find settled batters for the number four and five position in their batting unit.
Like their neighbours, Pakistan also have a settled top order and bowling unit. They will also be searching for the answers to their middle-order woes.
Nepal are placed in a tough group alongside India and Pakistan and they will look to impress in their two games against the mighty opposition.
Bangladesh have a leadership change after Tamim Iqbal had a fallout with the board. Shakib Al-Hasan will lead the Tigers in the Asia Cup as they will look to stun India and Pakistan alongside Sri Lanka.
Afghanistan haven’t announced their Asia Cup squad yet but there won’t be many changes from their squad against Pakistan.
The Lankan Tigers are also yet to announce their Asia Cup squad but they have a settled unit from the World Cup qualifiers.
